Journal Services

SkyMark makes systems that help the editors and publishers of academic journals. Like many of our offerings, they offer a sweet-spot between off-the-shelf systems that don't do things quite the way you need them to, and fully bespoke systems that are too costly. We use a core set of software building blocks from our extensive library, and then add a layer of modifications to make the system work exactly how you need it to. This keeps costs down, and gets you a working system early. The functionality typically encompasses:

  • Regular calls for papers.
  • The review and selection of papers by editors.
  • Managing journals, volumes, issues.
  • Uploading and storing of replication data.
  • Display of forthcoming papers, current papers, and popular historic papers.
  • Interviews with authors, statistics on citations, selected charts or highlights.
  • Search functions.
  • Links to publishers' systems, print distribution, editorial services, JSTOR, Cross-Ref, and related databases.

  • Project Hightlight: American Finance Association - Journal of Finance
